What is Color?
color, effect produced on the eye and its associated nerves by light waves of different wavelength or frequency. Light transmitted from an object to the eye stimulates the different color cones of the retina, thus making possible perception of various colors in the object.
Like death and taxes, there is no escaping color. It is ubiquitous. Yet what does it all mean? Why are people more relaxed in green rooms? Why do weightlifters do their best in blue gyms?

CMYK vs RGB

Monitor RGB produces colours using the additive system. colors are produced by mixing the three main components of white light.

CMYK and Pantone colors are reliant on the subtractive system, colors inks are affected by absorbing the light that is shone onto them.

Any on-screen representation of CMYK or Pantone is only a virtual approximation and will differ from screen to screen and based on the lighting conditions that you view colors under.
